What to see during your holiday in Martinscica, Cres

Cres is after the island of Hvar, the longest and with the neighboring island of Krk largest (405,78 km2) croatian island, length 66 km, and broad 12 km (in the widest part of).

Coast is very indented and long about 248 km, and has many coves and pebble beaches on its western and southern part, while the northern and eastern part are girded by the steep rocks.

The northern part of the island is covered with the oak and chestnut, while the central and southern part is dominated with the macchia.

This relatively small geographical area holds a genuine botanical garden - an abundance of species and lush vegetation.
Island Cres is famous for herbs, especially sage. The island is covered with olive groves and figs.

Today the island of Cres is one of the few habitats of the griffons, especially its northern part. ECO CENTER "Caput insulae", an organization which undertakes programmes of the preservation of natural versatility, original values and the cultural and historical heritage of Cres, opearates in Beli.

It is interesting that on the island of Cres, as well as in the rest of the archipelago, there are no poisonous snakes.
